Consumers have a right to the privacy of their confidential information. Our information is only to be used for the purposes of investigating the credit risk when applying for credit, applying to rent or lease, or when tendering a cheque for payment.

In the event that CCBL discovers that a user is violating the terms of our agreement, it will take immediate steps to address this violation.

CCBL maintains a log of all queries made by our authorized users. Authorized subscribers are the only ones that have access to a limited amount of information regarding your credit history. Complete details on your credit file are only shared with you upon proper identification, or due to a Court Order instructing us to provide information. We respect a consumer’s right to privacy and take all steps to ensure that our information is not used in an unauthorized manner.

 

 

User Conduct and Obligations

 

Authorized Users are required to conduct themselves in a responsible manner when using our services. This begins by always being respectful to the consumer that you are dealing with. We suggest that you always thank the consumer for providing you the opportunity to serve them. You should advise the consumer that you will be performing a credit check on them as part of your company’s policy to provide the best possible service.

Consumers have a right to the privacy of their confidential information. Our information is only to be used for the purposes of investigating the risk of doing business with the consumer. CCBL maintains a log of all queries made by our authorized users, and the users are responsible for those queries that are registered against them in our logs. Users have an obligation to justify queries performed by them.

Our subscribers are obliged to report fair and accurate information to us, and to report any discrepancies to us as soon as possible after becoming aware of any errors in the information that they have reported to us. Subscribers should inform their customers that they will be reporting bounced cheque and other credit history information to us.

Subscribers are obliged to inform consumers when a facility applied for was declined as a result of the information that we provided. Subscribers are also obliged to inform the consumer that they have a right to know what information CCBL contains on them in our database, and to dispute any information they deem to be incorrect by directly contacting us.
